Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to architect and scale cloud video streaming services, APIs, and cloud storage. You will work on AWS-based, highly available systems while contributing across the stack as needed to deliver reliable enterprise security solutions.

You will own services end-to-end, drive incident resolution, and collaborate with product teams to shape long-term roadmaps, with remote work available within the United States.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in computer science with relevant experience or 2+ years with a Master's degree.
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, or similar statically-typed language; scripting with Ruby or Python.
• Backend experience with REST APIs and relational databases.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and Kubernetes.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale cloud video streaming, exports, and cloud storage services.
• Design and implement high-performance APIs and backend services for Meraki Dashboard.
• Develop scalable AWS-based solutions with emphasis on availability and performance.
• Contribute across the stack, including UI components and firmware interactions as needed.
• Own services from design through deployment, including testing and observability.
• Lead incident resolution, post-mortems, and root-cause analyses to improve resilience.
• Partner with product managers to define requirements and long-term roadmaps.
