Job summary

Aether Aerospace is hiring a Cloud Migration Engineer II to coordinate data and cloud migrations across mission partners and solutions. You will work with the Solution Architect and engineering leadership to define target data models, timelines, and risk strategies, guiding technical migration approaches for legacy and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI.
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing complex IT migrations and cloud transitions.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate data and cloud migration activities across multiple projects.
• Serve as liaison between mission partners, DAF Cw engineering, and leadership on timelines and risks.
• Act as technical lead for discovery, planning and execution of migrations into the DAFCw environment.
• Conduct detailed IT environment assessments, baselines, and risk profiling.
• Define and execute migration plans for legacy and modern systems, including ETL and validation.
• Design, operate and optimize migration tools for mission partner needs.
• Utilize migration tooling like DevSecOps platforms, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and Identity Management systems.
• Execute migrations in agile waves to minimize disruption.
• Contribute to MaaS process improvements and documentation.
• Design QA frameworks and perform data validation to ensure post-migration integrity.
• Monitor progress and mitigate risks; coordinate ETL engineers and staff.
• Document standardized data and cloud migration approaches with Architecture/PMO.
• Maintain progress trackers aligned with schedules and resources.
• Provide technical support to improve productivity, quality and efficiency program-wide.
• Ensure all contractual deliverables meet customer expectations.
• Build positive client relationships within the program.
• Execute contract requirements per LCAT and specific requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
