Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking a Cloud Engineer IV to lead cloud infrastructure strategy, including OpenStack deployments and private cloud design. You will drive automation, security, and monitoring across hybrid environments, with on-call responsibilities and strong collaboration with leadership.

The role requires advanced cloud engineering expertise, scripting skills, and experience with enterprise monitoring tools. Location is hybrid with SCIF access near Langley AFB, VA.

Qualifications

• Emerging authority in cloud engineering with broad technical depth.
• Ability to design and implement private cloud and hybrid interfaces.
• Experience with OpenStack distributions and deployment.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud platform management and identity integration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud infra needs and participate in OpenStack deployment.
• Design private cloud infra integrated with hybrid platforms and identity mgmt.
• Automate build pipelines, migrations, security, and compliance.
• Manage TCP/IP networking in cloud and on-prem environments
• Develop monitoring dashboards, alerts, and incident escalations
• Provide application support and ensure security compliance
• Create scalable solutions to automate cloud infra and improve efficiency
• Document processes and train software development teams
• Support operational strategies aligned with program goals
• Work within a 24/7 on-call schedule
