Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator/Engineer to automate day-to-day tasks and build software and services from the ground up.

The role requires strong Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, and proficiency in at least one development language. AWS tools and DevOps practices are central to delivering scalable solutions at Amazon scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Maintain network tools and systems within US GovCloud and air-gapped regions.
• Troubleshoot problems, deploy/validate services, monitor and stand up new tools.
• Collaborate with multiple software teams to improve systems and services at scale.
• Diagnose critical failures quickly and craft durable, scalable solutions.
