Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

Responsibilities include the following related to Computer, Network, Storage, Cloud and End-User infrastructure:

  • Lead projects and /or development activities related to highly specialized areas of technology.

  • Plan, research, evaluate, design and analyze performance of complex infrastructure systems.

  • Provide advanced level technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations for complex solutions.

  • Direct the preparation of technical documentation including procedures, manuals, reports and standards.

  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate complex work activities of others within the work group or team. Adhere to budgeting and approval processes while leading annual and project planning.

  • Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices, procedures, standards, and rules of the company and complies with the regulations and procedures required by external agencies.

  • Develop, recommend and implement plans throughout the organization to address complex issues.

  • Apply expert proficiency to identify, analyze, design, and initiate solutions to highly complex problems requiring specialized knowledge and /or problem-solving techniques.

  • Demonstrate expert and broad technical industry knowledge and of AEP infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.

  • Mentor and provide functional/technical leadership and work direction to staff.

  • Lead in the preparation and presentation of complex technology decisions and large projects, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, in a manner suitable for presentation to senior management.

Minimum Requirements:

Infrastructure Engineer Staff (SG9):

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Infrastructure Engineer Lead (SG10):

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience:12 years of relevant work experience required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced experience with multiple public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP) designing, implementing, securing, and supporting cloud infrastructure.

  • Advanced experience using IaC and PaC tools (Terraform, ClouFormation, etc.) to automate provisioning and management of cloud services.

  • Advanced experience with DevSecOps practices and principles implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation utilizing containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS).

  • Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash ).

  • Advanced operating system administration experience with Linux and Windows.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).

  • Strong understanding of cloud cyber security including tools like CASB, CNAPP, CSPM, IAM, RBAC and more.

  • Knowledge and understanding of AI.

  • Knowledge and understanding of API Management.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • AWS Certified

  • CCIPS, CCSP, CERT Incident Response Process Professional

  • CISM, CISSP, CNDA, CNPS

  • CREST Certifications (e.g., Certified Host Intrusion Analyst, Certified Malware Reverse Engineer, Certified Network Intrusion Analyst)

  • GIAC Certifications (e.g., GCIH, GCIP, GSEC, GREM)

  • Microsoft Certified (Azure, Microsoft 365)

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • OSCP, OSEE

  • Treadstone Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst

  • Other vendor-specific certifications

$112,869.00-146,730.50 USD
