Job summary

NS2 Mission in Herndon, VA is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud environments for data-intensive workloads. You will work with software, platform, and DevOps teams to build resilient infrastructure using Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and modern observability tools.

You'll implement secure networking, DNS, and messaging with RabbitMQ and Kafka, automate deployments via IaC, support CI/CD pipelines, and drive incident response and platform optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments.
• Strong AWS knowledge (EKS, EC2, S3).
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Understanding of routing, DNS, and networking in distributed environments.
• Experience with RabbitMQ and Kafka for messaging/streaming.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure for high-volume workloads.
• Manage containerized environments using Kubernetes, including deployment and scaling.
• Build and optimize AWS infrastructure with EKS, EC2, and S3.
• Automate provisioning with Terraform and IaC practices.
• Develop routing and DNS solutions to support high availability.
• Configure messaging platforms like RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Implement monitoring and observability with Grafana and related tools.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and drive incident resolution.
• Apply cloud security best practices and participate in platform optimization.
