Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer in Herndon, VA to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform IaC, and messaging systems like RabbitMQ and Kafka.

You will implement monitoring, observability with Grafana, and DevOps practices to optimize CI/CD and deployment pipelines, while ensuring high availability and security across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Proficient with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3) and EKS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with routing, DNS, and observability tooling like Grafana.
• Proactive troubleshooting across cloud, infra, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable, resilient infrastructure for high-volume workloads.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads with Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes environments using AWS EKS.
• Design and optimize AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3).
• Develop IaC using Terraform to automate provisioning and config.
• Design, support routing and DNS for distributed systems.
• Deploy and support RabbitMQ and Kafka messaging systems.
• Support high-volume data streams and alerting processing.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
• Use Grafana to monitor system health and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud, infra, and network issues.
• Apply DevOps techniques to automate infrastructure and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with dev teams to streamline CI/CD and deployments.
• Implement cloud security best practices.
• Support large-scale projects in fast-paced environments.
