Job summary

BankUnited is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I to join a team managing provisioning, monitoring, recovery, and updating of cloud infrastructure with automation. The role requires quick learning, self-starting, and a focus on secure, highly available cloud environments.

The successful candidate will configure and maintain infrastructure components, implement upgrades, and monitor reliability while seeking opportunities to improve architecture using cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent management/work experience with IT and IT security exposure.
• 3+ years architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions.
• 3+ years of infrastructure experience including monitoring, DNS, DHCP, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Experience supporting automation teams using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins.
• Cloud-native technologies and AWS/Azure familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in post-incident reviews and determine actions to minimize downtime.
• Deploy and maintain distributed systems with security best practices.
• Support cloud infrastructure operations, deployments, monitoring, and DR planning.
• Create SOPs and knowledge articles for new features or changes.
• Develop automated monitoring and reporting for cloud health and cost.
• Provide Level 2 production support and participate in on-call rotations.
