Job summary

Engram is hiring an infrastructure engineer to own the cloud and bare‑metal systems that train and serve customer models. You’ll work with researchers to ensure a secure, fast path from ingestion to inference and scale as we add customers and providers.

You’ll own production infrastructure on AWS, IAM, Terraform, and multi‑tenant isolation, collaborating with the team to ship reliable, secure systems at an early stage. In‑person SF office; equity and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, ML, or related field
• Four years of work experience as a software engineer or equivalent
• Experience building/operating production infra on AWS, including IAM cross-account roles, STS, policies, KMS
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform or similar) at multi-account scale with secure patterns
• Rigorous approach to multi-tenant isolation
• Track record of owning complex, production-critical systems end-to-end
• Comfort with ambiguity and high ownership at early-stage company
• Strong production‑grade coding skills (Python, Rust, or similar)

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the cloud infrastructure for training and serving Engram customer models
• Design and enforce boundaries to keep each customer's data isolated across cloud and bare metal
• Partner with researchers and engineers to improve isolation and security posture
• Evaluate and secure providers/tools (Modal, Baseten, Fireworks) and compute on bare metal or Kubernetes
• Lead security operations: logging/monitoring, incident response, and security reviews/compliance
