Job summary

Engram in San Francisco is seeking an infrastructure engineer to own the systems that train and serve customer models. You will ensure isolation across cloud and baremetal compute, partnering with researchers to keep the secure path fast and scalable.

You’ll design cloud boundaries, work with Modal, Baseten and Fireworks, and lead security operations, logging and incident responses in a fast‑growing startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• Four years of work experience as a software engineer or equivalent.
• Production infra on AWS with IAM, cross-account roles and policies.
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar) at multi-account scale.
• Strong multi-tenant isolation and ownership of production systems.
• Production-grade coding in Python or Rust; shipping code and config.
• Comfort with ambiguity and high ownership at a startup.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate cloud infrastructure for training and serving models.
• Enforce boundaries to keep each customer's data isolated across cloud and baremetal.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers on secure, scalable roads.
• Evaluate tools and providers (Modal, Baseten, Fireworks) and multi-cloud compute.
• Lead security operations, logging, monitoring, incidents, and compliance.
