Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Finance Business Partner for Cloud compute resources, embedded in Infrastructure Engineering and Strategic Sourcing. You’ll architect the financial framework for a global compute strategy, balancing growth with disciplined spending and translating cloud contracts into business value.

You will build TCO models, conduct buy-vs-build analyses, and drive cost transparency through tagging. Strong FinOps, Mandarin fluency, and IFRS knowledge are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years in Finance/Accounting with 3+ years in Cloud/Infra environments.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and FinOps familiarity.
• Translating Kubernetes clusters and GPU latency into EBITDA impact.
• Proven collaboration in high-growth environments with inclusive working style.
• Mandarin fluency required for cross-border collaboration with China-based stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build complex TCO models for multi-year cloud commitments.
• Lead feasibility studies comparing On-prem/Colocation vs Public Cloud with CapEx/OpEx.
• Provide data-driven leverage for procurement negotiations with hyperscalers and GPU OEMs.
• Drive cost transparency through tagging and metadata across business units.
• Define and track Unit Cost metrics (e.g., per 1k tokens, per MAU).
• Partner with DevOps to optimize Commitment Coverage and Spot usage.
• Own cloud budget for global regions and explain monthly variances.
• Translate roadmaps into long-range financial plans aligned with margins.
• Ensure IFRS capitalization of R&D costs and cross-border tax considerations.
