Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a senior FinOps leader to bridge finance, engineering, and operations. You will define cloud financial management roadmaps, implement cost avoidance strategies, and lead initiatives for AI-assisted cost anomaly detection and forecasting.

The role blends strategic planning with hands-on delivery across mission partners. Ideal candidates have 8–12+ years in cloud cost management, strong analytics, and experience delivering significant cost savings at scale.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of professional experience in cloud cost management and FinOps
• FinOps Practitioner or FinOps Engineer certification strongly preferred
• Demonstrated 15–30% cloud cost savings delivery on prior engagements
• Strong data analytics and visualization skills—experience with SQL, PowerBI, or equivalent
• Federal FinOps experience helpful but not required; large enterprise cost optimization background

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive FinOps strategies aligned with business and mission goals
• Create and maintain FinOps roadmaps embedding cost-conscious practices into engineering lifecycles
• Design KPI frameworks with targets and accountability for FinOps delivery
• Establish governance for tagging, budgeting, and resource accountability
• Drive automation and transparency in cost reporting, anomaly detection, and forecasting
