Job description

Location: Onsite – McLean, VA - Candidates must be in the DC/MD/VA area.

Assignment Type: 6M CTH

Must Haves: 8+ years experience working with Postgres DB Engineering, 6+ years Postgres, Aurora in AWS Ecosystem, knowledge and experience working with AWS Dev. Automation (CFT), solid DB skills.

References: 2 references required.

Interview Process:

Preparation:

• Experience with Aurora management and monitoring tools.
• Experience with Aurora's performance and cost optimization strategies.
• Good understanding of the AWS ecosystem and automation tools like CFT, Terraform.
• Database Administration: Monitoring performance, backup/recovery strategies, troubleshooting.
• Database tuning and query optimization.
• Ensuring database security, integrity, and compliance.
• Database Security & Access Management expertise.
• Supporting traditional DB tech such as Oracle, MongoDB (preferable).
• Database Migration experience, including planning, execution, and data integrity verification using AWS DMS.
• Familiarity with data migration tools and techniques, e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL Aurora.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, driven, and creative.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience (required).
