Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure, automation frameworks, and deployment pipelines that power our technology platform for utility customers.

Work closely with software engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available solutions. Strong emphasis on Terraform IaC, CI/CD with Jenkins/GitHub Actions, and AWS technologies in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering or related production-support role.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with ECS and Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS services.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Groovy).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate to design, deploy, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure solutions.
• Own and support production-grade environments for high availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and services.
• Automate operational processes and repetitive tasks.
• Partner with development teams to enhance deployment strategies and readiness.
• Support security, compliance, and governance across cloud environments.
• Contribute to a culture of learning, accountability, and agile delivery.
• Act as a trusted technical partner delivering reliable solutions for utility customers.
