Job summary

Impiricus is seeking a Software Engineer (DevOps) to build and operate scalable AWS infrastructure, automate pipelines, and improve platform reliability. You will work with EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and CloudWatch, while contributing to QA automation and feature-enabled deployments.

The role emphasizes Terraform/CloudFormation, Docker, and Kubernetes (EKS), with a focus on secure, reliable production workloads and cost optimization. Remote-friendly within the USA.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production-grade software and 2+ years operating cloud infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong experience with AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC.
• Python, Bash, and SQL proficiency.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS; solid networking and cloud security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines leveraging AWS or third-party tools.
• Operate and optimize containerized/serverless workloads (EKS, ECS, Lambda, Fargate).
• Monitor and troubleshoot systems with CloudWatch, X-Ray, and observability tools.
• Implement AWS security best practices (IAM, VPCs, security groups, secrets).
• Automate infrastructure operations, scaling, and maintenance.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews; drive improvements.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects; support QA automation.
