Job summary

HP, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Development Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features and ensure security, performance, and reliability across cloud and on-prem environments. The role emphasizes building RESTful services, working with databases, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines, observability, and deployment automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, GoLang and Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with databases such as Mongo, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and debugging practices.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, RabbitMQ/AMQP a plus
• Experience with AWS services like Lambda, SNS, SQS, IAM, etc.
• Infra-as-code (Terraform/Terragrunt)
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture.

Cloud Development Engineer

Description -

As a Software Engineer, Cloud Services, you will create scalable, reliable backend systems that support HP Workforce Experience mission to transform the way people work. We focus on designs and tools rooted in strong engineering principles like abstraction, composition, virtualization, automation, and iterative development cycles.

This role is responsible for designing, implementation, and maintenance of complex software systems that meet specific business needs or technical requirements. The role works at the intersection of software development and system architecture to ensure the successful development and deployment of software solutions that address a wide range of challenges and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

• Collaborate withfront-enddevelopers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

• Integrate with databases and external services, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization efforts.

• Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.

• Creates and maintains detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Minimum of 4 years of software development experience.

• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

• Strong proficiency in Java,JavaScript,GoLangand Spring Boot.

• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Familiarity with databases such asMongo,MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is$105,050.00 - 152,350.00USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
