Job summary

Essent Group Ltd. offers an IT Associate Cloud Development program in Winston-Salem, NC. This 12–18 month training program provides rotations across Front End, Back End, Data/ML, and Change Management, with mentorship and a path to a permanent IT role.

As an entry-level contributor, you will observe and participate in projects, gain certifications, and develop cloud skills while receiving structured training and guidance from senior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Some travel may be required (<20%).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
• Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team player open to learning new skills.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• AWS Developer training and certification as required by management.
• Cloud Fundamentals and Cloud Guru/Pluralsight training as required by management.
• Foundational knowledge of Java programming and OOP concepts.

Responsibilities

• Observe and learn from experienced IT team members.
• Perform assigned projects across IT departments.
• Assist with and handle technical support issues in your rotational area.
• Troubleshoot hardware and/or software issues under trainer direction.
• Aid team members and managers as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of IT system modifications and new software services.
• Engage in trainee development meetings and conferences.
• Develop POCs and cloud-based solutions.
• Research evolving technology and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
