MotherDuck is building a cloud-hosted DuckDB and seeks a Software Engineer for the Database team in New York City. You will own core server and client extension logic, optimize embedded database performance, and work closely with the DuckDB Labs and wider community to align APIs.

The role offers a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment with opportunities to mentor others and influence architecture across local and cloud deployments.

Competenze

• Backend experience with complex systems and distributed execution.
• Proficiency in C++, Rust, or Java and low-level programming.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and networking.

Mansioni

• Own major projects in the dual execution stack to process queries locally or in the cloud.
• Help build a cloud platform that dynamically assigns resources for varying workloads.
• Lead cross-functional work with frontend, platform, and infrastructure teams to ensure coherent UX.
