Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager for Cloud & Data Security to lead a team of security engineers responsible for securing the company's cloud infrastructure and data platforms. You will set the team's technical direction, coach engineers, and partner across the company to raise the security bar.

This role requires 9+ years in engineering, 5+ in security, 3+ in people management, strong cloud security (AWS, IAM, network, secrets), Kubernetes, and data governance.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of Engineering Experience with at least 5+ years in Security Engineering or related Infrastructure
• 3+ years of People Management leading Security Engineers
• Deep understanding of cloud security practices across AWS, IAM, network security, and secrets management
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, container security, IaC, and cloud-native detection/prevention controls
• Experience securing data platforms, access controls, encryption, and data governance patterns
• Proven track record coaching and growing security engineers, including PM and feedback
• Strong partnership skills, embedding security with infrastructure and platform teams
• Excellent communication translating complex technical decisions for executives and cross-functional partners
• Enterprise security experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of security engineers focused on cloud infrastructure security, data security, and identity controls
• Set and drive the team's roadmap aligned with security priorities
• Partner with Infrastructure, Data Platform, and Application Security teams to embed security into build/deploy/operate processes
• Guide architectural decisions across cloud (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, data infrastructure, and identity systems
• Coach engineers through career growth and technical development
• Communicate direction, risk posture, and progress to senior leadership
• Raise the bar on technical craft and operational excellence
