Job summary

CACI International Inc. seeks a Chief Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of an enterprise data platform for DHS OIG.

You will architect cloud-based data pipelines, guide migration from legacy ETL to modern solutions, and enforce governance and security across all data assets. You will oversee data onboarding, enable AI workloads, and provide technical leadership for lakehouse design, data modeling, and analytics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 15 years in data engineering or related field; equivalencies considered.
Proven leadership delivering enterprise-scale data integration and ETL/ELT solutions.
Deep expertise in Azure data services and cloud data engineering.
Experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, and modern data integration frameworks.
Knowledge of lakehouse architectures and Delta Lake.
Experience migrating legacy ETL platforms to cloud-native solutions.
Background in federal government or national security data environments is desirable (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP).

Responsibilities

Lead design and implementation of enterprise data ingestion and transformation pipelines into a centralized governed data platform.
Oversee migration from legacy Informatica to cloud-based data integration solutions.
Architect scalable data integration patterns supporting batch, incremental, streaming, and metadata-driven pipelines.
Lead operations, automation, monitoring, and reporting of production data pipelines with SLA compliance.
Design integration with DHS data fabric, Delta Sharing, APIs, and secure file transfer mechanisms.
Coordinate phased data onboarding based on Government priorities.
Provide technical leadership for data architecture and cloud analytics engineering, including lakehouse design and data modeling.
Lead and coordinate data engineering resources for advanced analytics and forensic reconstruction.
Develop and maintain technical documentation including data lineage, runbooks, and best practices.
Collaborate with Government stakeholders to ensure data pipelines support mission analytics and AI model consumption.
