The Cloud Data Modernization Capability Lead is responsible for driving Centric’s growth in the cloud data transformation space. This role focuses on helping clients modernize their data platforms, migrate legacy systems to cloud environments, and build scalable, future-ready data solutions using leading cloud technologies. You will shape and grow this capability while delivering strategic value to clients and internal teams across industries.

As a capability lead, you will oversee the vision, execution, and growth of our Cloud Data Modernization services, which may include related areas like data engineering, data lake houses, real-time data streaming, and cloud-native analytics solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Map out and execute the growth strategy for the Cloud Data Modernization capability, aligned to industry trends and client needs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing delivery team focused on cloud data engineering, architecture, and migration services.
  • Contribute to staffing, recruiting, and hiring efforts, ensuring the right talent is aligned to project needs and long-term growth.
  • Establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) for cloud data modernization by developing accelerators, frameworks, and delivery standards.
  • Promote the capability internally and externally through marketing activities, such as delivering webinars, speaking at conferences, and authoring thought leadership content.
  • Define and refine industry-relevant offerings, such as data platform assessments, cloud migration roadmaps, and modernization accelerators.
  • Enable the sales team with tools, training, and support to position and sell cloud data modernization projects effectively.
  • Partner with Centric’s local office leads and business development teams to identify and pursue new client opportunities.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality execution, technical excellence, and client satisfaction across all engagements.
  • Serve as a feedback manager and mentor to select employees on the National Data & Analytics team.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with cloud vendors and technology providers (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks).

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of experience delivering cloud-based data solutions, including architecture, migration, and engineering.
  • 5+ years in a consulting role with experience leading client-facing engagements.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling a cloud-focused consulting practice.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to sell and deliver consulting projects valued at $100k+.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Fabric, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Ability to translate client business needs into actionable, technical cloud data strategies.
  • Recognizes the importance of coaching and feedback and embraces a growth mindset.
  • Holds teams accountable to high performance standards and leads with integrity.
  • Comfortable leading crucial conversations and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent listener, able to detect pain points and opportunities in client environments.

Preferred Experience & Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of cloud data architecture, including data lakehouses, event streaming, and ELT/ETL pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices in cloud environments.
  • Experience with cloud security, governance, and compliance.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics) are a plus.
