Job summary

EY is seeking a Data and Cloud Engineering Manager to transform data and AI capabilities into scalable, reliable production solutions. You will own workstreams, engage clients, manage budgets and lead cross-functional teams across data engineering, software engineering, and cloud governance.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, strong architectural skills, and a focus on observability and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree).
• Typically, no less than 4–6 years of relevant experience.
• Proven record operating High Availability services on Azure (4+ years).
• Expert understanding of core Azure services (Functions, Container Apps, SQL DB, Blob Storage, AKS, Monitor, Prometheus).
• Experience designing, deploying and managing containers with Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing SRE standards for resiliency and scalability of microservices in Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform.
• Experience implementing SLIs, SLOs and error budgets in delivery practices.
• Experience monitoring container-based microservices and cloud platform services.
• Use of CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and working by its principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with quick problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more technical workstreams and assure delivery quality.
• Translate business requirements into architecture, pipelines, and production platforms.
• Maintain daily client engagement and identify adjacent service opportunities.
• Manage resource plans, budgets and engagement economics.
• Own problems from raw data through production handoff and analysis.
• Automate and optimize processes and tools across cross-functional teams.
• Remain hands-on with tested, version-controlled code in production environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure high availability and performance.
• Design, provision, and run the cloud and container platform used by app teams.
• Build scalable pipelines and streaming architectures using Python/SQL and cloud platforms.
• Apply data architecture, modeling, integration, quality, security, ontologies and semantic layers.
• Apply QA and testing practices across the delivery lifecycle.
• Apply cloud/distributed-system architecture, GitOps, and multi-environment portability.
• Incorporate GenAI/LLM capabilities where relevant.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Agile delivery.
