Job summary
Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer 4 to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team. You’ll work across agile teams to design and deliver cloud-first data solutions, using Python, Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake to support analytics, machine learning, and customer-focused products.
You will mentor others, enforce engineering patterns, and ensure scalable, secure pipelines across data platforms while communicating clearly with stakeholders and teams nationwide.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
- 4+ years of experience in application development; 2+ years in distributed data.
- 2+ years of experience with SQL and one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
- Experience in data pipeline design and modeling with relational and NoSQL databases.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support data solutions.
- Influence a team of developers, data analysts and data scientists on ML and lakehouse projects.
- Build cloud-first data solutions using Python, Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Design scalable data pipelines with emphasis on security and performance.
- Communicate technical concepts and data outcomes to stakeholders.
