Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Database Engineer to review, design, and implement databases and related products to support business operations. You will develop views and interfaces for users to update data and maintain processes, taking ownership from source-system integration to production deployment.

The role spans across data engineering, database development, and cloud platforms with a focus on Azure SQL, Power Platform, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in data engineering, database development, or closely related role with ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration
• Advanced SQL skills including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling
• Familiarity with Python for data processing, automation, and API integration
• Experience with Git-based development and version control
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, etc.)
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment and work with Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and platforms supporting analytics and operations
• Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to translate data requirements into scalable solutions
• Develop solutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps, Power Automate, Azure SQL
• Ensure data quality and integrity through validation, verification, and reconciliation
• Optimize database and application performance via indexing and data structures
• Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans
• Maintain data dictionaries, models, and process maps
• Provide training and support to end-users on database systems and apps
• Model CBRE values through leadership by example
• Communicate clearly and meet deadlines within standardized procedures
