Job summary

NC DHHS is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support cloud-based data engineering and analytics initiatives in Raleigh, NC. You will design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions, including ETL/ELT processes using Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory.

You will build data ingestion workflows and integrate data with Salesforce, work with Curam/Oracle as needed, and develop semantic layers to support Power BI dashboards and reporting.

Qualifications

Experience as a Data Engineer focused on cloud-based data engineering and analytics initiatives.
Strong SQL, data modeling, and data quality skills required.
Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT and data integration across systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure services.
Integrate data with Salesforce and other enterprise systems.
Develop data models and semantic layers for reporting with Power BI.
Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
Ensure security, governance, and data quality across pipelines.
Troubleshoot pipeline failures and data ingestion issues; monitor performance.
