Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Philadelphia is seeking a Data Engineer to bolster the Firm’s data services with a focus on data integration, warehousing, SQL development, ETL/ELT processes, and modernization. The role follows a hybrid in-office/remote schedule in our Philadelphia office.

Reporting to the Data Warehouse Manager, you will contribute to SQL Server/SSIS ETL pipelines, develop cloud pipelines, ensure data quality, and collaborate with IT teams to design data flows, ERDs, and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years SQL development.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Fabric Data Factory (FDF), including pipeline development and data integration.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and modern cloud data warehouse architectures (Fabric Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake).
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based ETL/ELT solutions using Microsoft Azure and Fabric.
• Experience with OLTP using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Understanding of data warehouse design including Data Marts, Star/Snowflake schemas, and data lineage.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to SQL Server/SSIS-based ETL processes and cloud data platforms (Azure and Fabric).
• Develop and modernize data integration and warehousing solutions using SQL Server, SSIS, Azure SQL, ADF, Fabric.
• Support data warehouse and OLTP environments, including data ingestion, transformation, and data quality.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Developers, DBAs, and other IT teams to define and implement data.
• Analyze data sources, interfaces, and dependencies and develop data flow diagrams, ERDs, source-to-target mappings, and data lineage.
• Design and support data integration solutions considering security, privacy, regulatory, and performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot production data, database, and integration issues, coordinating with other IT teams.
