Job summary
HarperCollins Publishers seeks a Data Engineer to join the Data Management & Engineering team in the United States. Design, build, and support enterprise data pipelines across on-prem SQL Server and Azure, enabling cloud modernization with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Lake.
You will translate business requirements into scalable, well‑documented data solutions, collaborate with Data Governance and stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of critical data products and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- 3–5+ years in data engineering or enterprise data integration.
- Experience migrating and modernizing data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines across on-premises SQL Server and Azure.
- Develop Python, PySpark, and SQL notebooks for data ingestion and processing across layered data tiers.
- Integrate data from multiple sources including files, databases, and APIs.
- Implement data transformations, enrichment, and business rules per specs.
- Monitor pipelines and optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability.
