Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Cloud Engineer in Houston for a 6‑month contract-to-hire role with hybrid onsite (Mon–Wed). This hands-on position focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting a production Google Cloud Platform environment, leveraging Terraform, GCP networking, IAM, compute, storage, and security.

Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD tools is required. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in cloud infra and 2+ years in hands-on GCP, with scripting skills in Python/Bash/PowerShell

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience provisioning cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Experience with GCP networking, IAM, compute, storage and cloud security.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes (GKE preferred).
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Experience supporting production cloud environments.

About the Role

Our client, Sysco, is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This is a hands‑on infrastructure engineering role responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and supporting cloud infrastructure while partnering with engineering, networking, security, and application teams.

Hands‑on GCP experience is a core requirement for this position.

Candidates should have experience deploying and managing production cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform. Experience with AWS and/or Azure is a plus, but professional GCP experience is required.
