Job summary

CapTech is seeking a senior Data Architect to align client business goals with modern data solutions. You will lead data teams, design scalable architectures across cloud services, and drive governance practices to maximize data value.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, stakeholder communication, and ongoing talent development within CapTech’s Data & Analytics practice, with opportunities to engage clients directly in Reston and beyond.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience implementing with on-premises and cloud data management, integration, visualization, and analytics technologies.
• Advanced proficiency in designing modern data architectures across cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with real-time data distribution and NoSQL databases (Kafka, Kinesis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, CosmosDB).
• Strong SQL and Python skills for ingestion, storage and modeling of data.
• Ability to relate architectural decisions to client business needs and culture.
• Experience leading enterprise engineering teams and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess and advocate data management technologies to align current and target future states.
• Deliver strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery supporting business roadmaps.
• Articulate architectural trade-offs and recommend optimal solutions meeting requirements.
• Lead data engineers and technical teams through design, implementation and best practices.
• Provide insights to executives and development teams to maximize data value.
• Ensure solutions deliver business value aligned with client goals and strategy.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders regarding data modernization.
• Drive innovative tech solutions and thought leadership in data trends.
• Share project outcomes to improve future delivery and capabilities.
• Foster growth within CapTech Data & Analytics practice and partner with BD to propose solutions.
