Job summary

The Texas Rangers are seeking an experienced Infrastructure, Applications, and Data Platform Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, administering, securing, and evolving core infrastructure, identity services, enterprise applications, databases, and data platforms.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with SQL Server, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, and Tableau; will lead projects, maintain documentation, and ensure operational excellence across data services, security, and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure, database administration, application management, and data platform engineering.
• Primary owner for SQL Server environments, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, Tableau and related data platforms.
• Hands-on engineering with troubleshooting, documentation discipline, and emphasis on operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary database administrator for Microsoft SQL Server environments. Design, implement, and maintain highly available and secure database platforms.
• Manage SQL Server installations and upgrades, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and Google Cloud Platform databases.
• Monitor database performance, availability, storage, and growth; develop maintenance plans and standards.
• Implement database security controls, auditing, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
• Support data integration, ETL processes, and enterprise data architecture initiatives.
• Administer Tableau Server and Tableau environments; govern enterprise reporting and analytics.
