Job summary

SimSpace in the United States is seeking a Cyber Range Engineer to architect, deploy, and maintain cloud-based training environments. You will design scalable, realistic ranges that emulate enterprise systems across multiple clouds, working with security researchers and training specialists.

The ideal candidate has strong networking, IaC, containerization, and cloud experience, plus a track record delivering isolated, secure environments and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Expertise in networking concepts and secure design for isolated environments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Puppet, Ansible).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and VM deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and enterprise IT architectures.
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong documentation and customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain local and cloud-based cyber range architectures that support multiple concurrent training scenarios and user sessions.
• Develop automation frameworks for rapid deployment, teardown, and reset of range environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Create emulated cloud services and resources when direct cloud integration isn't feasible or cost-effective.
• Maintain security controls and network isolation to prevent range escape or resource abuse.
• Be an expert on SimSpace software providing guidance and documentation for many different use cases.
• Develop and maintain documentation for range architectures, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Occasional travel to other customer or partner locations (estimated 10%) may be required in the future
