Job summary

Datadog is seeking a finance-minded professional to optimize cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will build predictive models, automate insights, and provide real-time dashboards for leadership.

You will work at the intersection of Finance, Data Science, and Engineering, translating technical roadmaps into financial narratives and partnering with cross-functional teams to scale investments.

Qualifications

• ~5 years in Strategic Finance, Cloud Ops, FinOps, or Data Analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and the ability to query data to answer questions.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure (Compute, Storage, GPUs) and consumption-based pricing models.
• Experience building tools, models, or dashboards from scratch to solve manual pain points.
• Ability to switch between “Engineering speak” and “Finance speak” clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end modeling for largest hosting expense drivers (AWS, Azure, GCP, GPUs).
• Partner with Engineering and Finance leadership to drive variance analysis, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
• Lead the shift from manual workflows to automated insights and real-time dashboards for finance and engineering leaders.
• Define and track unit economics and efficiency metrics with Engineering; drive opportunities to improve gross margin.
• Oversee AI tooling and vendor partnerships to ensure investments scale with usage and revenue.
• Translate technical roadmaps into clear financial narratives for CFO and executives.
