City of San Antonio is seeking a qualified IT professional to administer cloud-based platforms, implement security practices, and support enterprise-scale infrastructure. The role focuses on cloud engineering, network administration, and performance monitoring, with a strong emphasis on DevSecOps and cross-functional collaboration within ITSD.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of related experience, including cloud deployments and CJIS background checks.

Formación

• One year of work experience in Systems Administration, Networking, DBA, DBMS design and support, and/or PC Support roles.
• One year of work experience in developing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions including deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and implementing cloud infrastructure security practices.
• Applicants must pass CJIS fingerprint-based background checks and CJIS eligibility rules; disqualifiers include felony and certain misdemeanor offenses.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Delivers expertise in cloud impacts on product licensing, testing and implementation of infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, network engineering, and data flow monitoring.
• Maintains and validates cloud standards, capacity planning models, and load-balancing/redundancy solutions.
• Troubleshoots product platforms and performs root cause analysis.
• Performs maintenance, testing, and patch/upgrade activities for cloud-based platforms.
• Tracks service usage, performance, uptime, and availability across cloud resources.
• Participates in gap analyses and proposes modifications to improve cloud product availability and reliability.
• Coordinates cross-functional initiatives and acts as an internal advisor to ITSD and business units.
• Assists with short- and long-term planning, implements technical requirements for cloud products, and keeps abreast of emerging technologies.
• Maintains business continuity and disaster recovery requirements and develops mitigation strategies.
• Identifies vulnerabilities and implements mitigation and contingency plans.
• Defines metrics and KPIs.

• Delivers expertise in a range of areas, including cloud impacts on product licensing, testing and implementation of infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, network engineering, and systems and data flow monitoring.
• Maintains and validates cloud standards, capacity planning models, and load-balancing/redundancy solutions.
• Troubleshoots product platforms and performs root cause analysis.
• Performs maintenance activities, testing procedures, order of operations and backout methods for patching, updating, or upgrading cloud-based platforms, products, or systems.
• Track data including service usage and fees, user experience, performance, uptime, and availability utilizing databases, websites, virtual networks, cloud storage, virtual machines, alerts, etc.
• Participates in gap analysis studies and feasible alternative solutions, and recommends the scope of modifications to improve the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud-based products.
• Coordinates and works on multiple cross-functional initiatives, systems, applications, teams, products, and/or projects and serves as an internal advisor to ITSD and business units.
• Assists with evaluating short and long-term planning efforts with management.
• Implement technical requirements relative to cloud-based products and platforms.
• Maintains training and research on emerging technologies and how they might apply within ITSD.
• Maintains business continuity & disaster recovery requirements, methods, and procedures based on established policies.
• Participates in the identification of vulnerabilities and implements mitigation and contingency plans.
• Identifies and implements metrics/KPI.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• One (1) year of work experience in Systems Administration, Networking, DBA, DBMS design and support, and/or PC Support roles
• One (1) year of work experience in developing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions to include deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and implementation of cloud infrastructure security practices.
• Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.

Applicant Information

• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
