City of San Antonio is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to provide guidance, roadmaps, standards, and best practices across business and IT partners. The role focuses on balancing current operations with long-term strategy and leading enterprise architecture delivery across platforms.

The incumbent will develop architectural runway, identify enablers at the portfolio level, and influence senior leadership to align technology with business goals while overseeing implementation plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field and 6 years of IT/business experience including architecture design and deployment.

Under general supervision, is responsible for providing guidance, roadmaps, principles, standards, and best practices. Enables business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision. Provides strategic consultation to business partners in defining or designing business processes and technical functions on complex and/or system-wide projects. May exercise technical supervision.

Work Hours

7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday

• Defines the request and review processes and leads the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes.
• Develops and maintains the architectural runway across a platform, identifies enablers at the enterprise/portfolio level, and balances between intentional architecture and emergent design.
• Researches, identifies, and internally markets enabling technologies based on business partner requirements.
• Orchestrates IT's delivery of business value from technology, working closely with product management across platforms.
• Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of technology architecture in platforms to effectively support business strategy.
• Reviews and leads the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture of platforms based on business requirements and IT strategies.
• Reviews existing business processes and establishes metrics and approves design to improve processes, as well as support of all
  architectural disciplines under their direction.
• Leads the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers.
• Responsible for defining the direction for future projects.
• Provides technical guidance and consultation to subordinate architects.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Six (6) years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems life cycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
• Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.

Applicant Information

• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
