Job summary

Subway is seeking an Engineer, Capacity & Performance Management to ensure our cloud estate (Azure, AWS, Databricks) runs reliably and cost-effectively in Shelton, CT. You will forecast demand from telemetry, model capacity, and drive performance tuning and cost optimization across multiple platforms.

You will partner with Data Engineering, the EOC, and the ServiceNow platform team to turn telemetry into dashboards, recommendations, and action plans that avoid saturation and optimize spend while

Qualifications

• 4-8 years in capacity/performance engineering, cloud infrastructure, or IT operations with a strong data/analytics component.
• Strong data/analytics skills, including SQL and BI dashboards (Power BI), with forecasting experience.
• Experience with Databricks and cloud monitoring (Dynatrace).
• Hands-on capacity planning in Azure and AWS; experience with SQL Server/AWS RDS/Aurora.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate telemetry into decision-ready insight.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud infrastructure capacity planning and demand forecasting across Azure and AWS.
• Partner with Data Engineering to optimize Databricks workload performance and consumption.
• Define performance baselines, KPIs, and SLAs; monitor for anomalies and tune bottlenecks.
• Build capacity, performance, and cost dashboards in Power BI and ServiceNow Performance Analytics.
• Identify idle/over-provisioned resources and drive right-sizing and cost optimization.
• Provide capacity/performance monitoring support to the Enterprise Operations Center (EOC).
• Use telemetry to forecast saturation and inform demand planning.
