Job summary

Avalore.ai is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems. You will contribute to backend processing, indexing, and IR capabilities, working solo or in a team, and help implement cloud-based MapReduce analytics.

Requirements include 8+ years in software engineering with Big-Data cloud tech and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. This role emphasizes Java, Hadoop, and distributed computing in a federal contractor environment.

Qualifications

• Eight years of software engineering experience in programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Two years of experience with Big-Data Cloud technologies or distributed computing.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline; four years’ substitution possible for degree.
• Master’s may substitute for two years of experience; Cloudera Hadoop certification may substitute for one year.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance cloud-based Big-Data systems.
• Design and implement Cloud Information Retrieval workflows.
• Build and test MapReduce analytics and data processing pipelines.
• Interact with Cloud distributed coordination frameworks and cloud services.
• Oversee tasks and ensure alignment with software development processes.
• Contribute to documentation improvements and standards.
