Job summary

The Cloud AWS Support Reliability Engineer role at Federal Reserve Bank of New York focuses on building and maintaining scalable AWS infrastructure, writing Terraform-based provisioning, and developing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab. Qualifications

  • Terraform IaC to provision AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
  • Extensive AWS infrastructure knowledge (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, VPC, ALB/ELB, Route53)
  • Knowledge of AWS IAM concepts, encryption, key management, certificates, vulnerability management
  • Desirable: Glue, ECS, CloudBeaver, AWS Multi-AZ/Region
  • Languages: Java, Python, Scala
  • Containerized middleware: NGINX, JBoss, Tomcat
  • DevSecOps, Agile-Scrum, JIRA practices
  • Strong collaboration and independent work ability
  • DevOps and SRE fundamentals; runbooks and docs
  • Monitoring with Grafana and CloudWatch; incident remediation

The team works closely with our service providers and customers to provide highly resilient, secure, enterprise-class cloud platforms and infrastructure to meet business requirements.

HowYou’llMake an Impact as aCloud AWS Support Reliability Engineer (SRE):
  • Setting up andmaintainingAWS infrastructure
  • Implementing observability and monitoring to ensure delivery of business value
  • Containerizing code and COTS tools
  • Write Terraform IAC code to install custom applications, AWS services, and COTS tools in AWS
  • Troubleshoot application issues to resolve incidents and ensure resiliency
  • Create CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to install and rehydrate in AWS
  • Take software as a black box and deploy and install in AWS
  • Participatein on-call rotation for critical product support
  • Resolve security vulnerabilities for principal platforms and products

  • Demonstratedproficiencyin writing,maintaining, troubleshooting TerraformIaCto provision AWS cloud infrastructure services

  • Demonstratedproficiencyin AWS cloud infrastructure including Lambda, S3, SNS, EKS (including Helm charts), data gateways, EC2, RDS Postgres DB, Oracle-RDS, VPC, transit gateways, Direct Connect, ALB/ELB, Grafana, CloudWatch, Route53, DNS, EFS
  • Demonstratedknowledge of AWS IAM concepts and principles, including Okta, encryption, key management, certificates, vulnerability management, rehydration
  • Desirable: knowledge of Glue, ECS,CloudBeaver, AWS Multi-AZ, AWS Multi-Region
  • Working knowledge of programming languages: Java, Python, Scala
  • Knowledge of containerized middleware (i.e.NGINX, JBoss, Tomcat)
  • Knowledge ofDevSecOps, Agile-Scrum, JIRA methodologies
  • Highly collaborative, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive positive customer
  • Solid foundations of DevOps and SRE principles and roles
  • Technical writing skills including drafting run books, procedural manuals, and support documentation
  • Hands-on experiences with configuring monitoring and alerting with tools such as Grafana and CloudWatch
  • Knowledge of Incident management and remediation processes

Salary Range: $160000 - $230000 / year
