Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using IaC and CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on building scalable automation, implementing security controls, and modernizing cloud operations within a federal program.

The ideal candidate will have Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions expertise, plus experience with cloud networking, serverless solutions, and multi-cloud deployment strategies.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance.
• 3+ years of hands-on Terraform experience.
• Strong Ansible experience for configuration management and deployment.
• Experience in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and Azure Logic Apps.
• Hands-on CI/CD development using GitHub Actions.
• Scripting: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Git/GitHub version control proficiency.
• Cloud networking concepts: VPCs, VNets, VPNs, routing, DNS, TCP/IP.
• Experience implementing cloud security best practices.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud infra and deployments.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitoring with CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer Associate.
• Azure Administrator or Developer Associate Certification.
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate Certification.
• GitHub Certifications.
• Multi-cloud deployment strategy experience.
• Experience with FedRAMP, NIST, or CIS compliance frameworks.
• Experience with Terratest, InSpec, or Pester.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules for AWS and Azure deployments.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for config management and app deployments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code standards and best practices.
• Build reusable cloud automation frameworks and deployment templates.
• Deploy and manage AWS and Azure cloud services.
• Design and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and Azure technologies.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Create automated testing, validation, and security controls for deployments.
• Design and support cloud networking including VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, routing, and security controls.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor cloud environments and establish alerting solutions.
• Develop standardized cloud deployment processes and documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members on cloud automation best practices.
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across the environment.
