Job summary

Ringside Talent is seeking a Cloud Architect in Cleveland, OH in a hybrid role to design secure, scalable cloud foundations and guide a team of engineers from landing zones to modernization.

You will set standards, govern cloud architecture, drive IaC, automate provisioning, and collaborate with security and business leaders to align technology with strategic goals. This is a leadership role with opportunity to shape the team and influence cloud strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise cloud architectures across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation.
• Experience building landing zones and governance frameworks.
• Automation and scripting with PowerShell or Python and CI/CD.
• Leadership in cloud modernization or migration initiatives.
• People management, mentoring, and directing technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain decisions to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and govern cloud architecture that is secure, scalable, and cost-aware.
• Build and standardize cloud landing zones, including account structure, networking, identity, and guardrails.
• Drive infrastructure as code (IaC) practices so environments are repeatable, version-controlled, and easy to audit.
• Automate provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks to cut manual effort and reduce risk.
• Lead cloud modernization efforts, including migrating and re-architecting existing workloads.
• Set technical standards and reference architectures for engineering and application teams.
• Manage, coach, and develop cloud engineers, setting priorities and supporting career growth.
• Work with security, infrastructure, and application leaders to align cloud decisions with business goals.
• Evaluate new cloud services and tools, recommending adoption where they add clear value.
• Monitor cloud costs and performance, and identify ways to optimize both.

• Proven experience leading cloud modernization or migration initiatives

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to leadership
