Job summary

UDR Consulting, INC is seeking a Cloud Architect in Charleston, West Virginia to design and implement scalable cloud environments, lead migrations, and enforce governance and security.

The role requires deep experience across AWS/Azure/GCP, IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible, and strong communication to bridge technical and business teams. UDR offers competitive salaries and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud architecture experience including designing and implementing IT cloud solutions.
• 6–10+ years in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Experience with cloud migration patterns: Rehost, Refactor, Replatform (3+ years).
• Familiarity with IAM, security controls and governance frameworks (e.g., NIST/RMF).
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Expert are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and govern scalable cloud landing zones and environments.
• Lead migration of on-premises systems to the cloud with modernization.
• Implement security controls, IAM policies, and compliance guardrails.
• Manage cloud cost models and optimize resource usage.

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Cloud Architect opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Architecture: Build scalable, secure, and reliable cloud landing zones and environments.
• Migration & Modernization: Lead the movement of legacy systems and data from on-premises data centers to the cloud.
• Governance & Security: Implement security controls, IAM policies, and compliance guardrails (such as NIST or RMF).
• Cost Optimization: Manage cloud spending models and resource efficiency. [1, 2]

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP services.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience: Typically 6 to 10+ years in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering.
• Certifications: Often requests AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Expert credentials.
• Cloud Architect must have a minimum of five years (5) of experience in Cloud Architecture including designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions. (AWS, AZURE, or GCP)
• Cloud Architect must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with cloud Migration patterns, (Rehost, Refactor, Replatform)
• Cloud Architect must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform
• Cloud Architect should have excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
