Our client is seeking a Cloud Application Developer (AWS) for a remote opportunity.

Role Description

Seeking an experienced Cloud Application Development Engineer with a strong understanding of the AWS cloud environment. The candidate should have a firm grasp on microservices architecture, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), service isolation, horizontal scalability, and other concepts within the Twelve-Factor App methodology. Experience with cloud-native architectural patterns, object storage, queues, load balancers, and containers is required. Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Glue, and Lake Formation is preferred. DevOps practices, including value streams, feedback, and continuous improvement, are also important.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code for scalable, robust applications.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodeDeploy.
• Manage canary releases and blue-green deployments.
• Monitor and optimize cloud system health and performance.
• Ensure security and compliance of data and infrastructure deployments.
• Collaborate with teams to design secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Develop and support new and existing business features.
• Implement security measures and ensure compliance.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud application development.
• Proficiency in Python or Typescript; both is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, S3, SQS, ELB, ECS, Fargate.
• Experience with serverless technologies and microservices; EC2 experience is not relevant.
• 5+ years with CI/CD pipelines using SaaS tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, AWS CodeDeploy.
• 5+ years developing REST APIs with TypeScript and Python.
• 3+ years integrating third-party APIs.
• 3+ years working with infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
• AWS Solution Architecture Professional, AWS DevOps Professional certifications, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and passion for technology.
• Experience with scripting, SQL, and test-driven development practices.
• Ability to recommend best practices based on AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience designing resilient, highly available cloud solutions.
• Ability to work independently and mentor teams.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with EdTech systems, standards like LTI and SCORM.
