Job summary

Capital City College is seeking a Cloud & AI Technology Lead to support cloud-enabled learning and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence. The role involves architecture, design, configuration and delivery of secure, reliable virtual learning environments across multiple sites in the UK.

You will join a friendly team and contribute to high-quality support, helping staff and learners access advanced technologies including VMs, hosted AI models, and GPU computing.

Qualifications

• Degree in computing, software engineering, cloud computing, AI, data science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in software development, cloud/platform engineering or related role.
• Hands-on design and configuration of Azure or other major cloud platforms.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Experience in architecture, translating requirements into workable solutions.
• Experience delivering services from design to deployment and ongoing improvement.
• Knowledge of AI tech including generative AI, LLMs, APIs and workplace AI tools.

Are you ready to make an impact at one of London's leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a skilled Cloud & AI Technology Lead to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

About The Role

This role is offered on a full time, fixed-term hybrid basis. 3 days on site and 2 days across multiple sites. The contract will end on 29th of October 2027.

The Cloud and AI Lead will provide hands-on technical expertise to support Capital City College's work in cloud-enabled learning and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.

The postholder will play a key role in the architecture, design, configuration and delivery of secure, reliable and accessible virtual learning environments. These environments will enable CCC staff and learners, and learners at partner colleges across the UK, to access state-of-the-art technologies and tools, including virtual machines, hosted AI models, specialist software, data environments and GPU computing.

About You

We're looking for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering excellent service. You should bring:

• A degree in computing, software engineering, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data science or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial professional experience.At least three years' experience in software development, cloud engineering, platform engineering or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience of designing, configuring and supporting solutions on Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Experience of software development and scripting using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or comparable languages and tools.
• Experience of contributing to technical architecture and translating user requirements into workable solutions.
• Experience of supporting services through design, setup, testing, deployment, documentation and ongoing improvement.
• Practical knowledge of AI technologies, including generative AI, large language models, APIs and workplace AI tools.
