Job summary

Zebra Technologies is seeking a Cloud AI Engineer, Lead, to design, build, and scale cloud-native AI platforms and AI-powered log analytics. You will partner with IT Platform Engineering, Cloud Security, and AI teams to deliver rapid PoCs and practical solutions across GCP and Azure.

The role requires hands-on Gemini Enterprise experience, multi-cloud proficiency, strong Python skills, and a track record deploying containerized AI solutions with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in an operations style team (NOC, SOC, MOC, etc.) and troubleshooting networking, service desk, ops center and/or cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on Google Gemini Enterprise experience: building and deploying custom agents with ADK.
• Multi-Cloud & GenAI Platform proficiency across GCP, Azure, OpenAI and Anthropic.
• Experience in global, heterogeneous cloud/on‑prem environments.
• Knowledge of LLMs, RAG architectures, MCP, tool calling and orchestration patterns.
• Python scripting for automation and testing; CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong security practices, RBAC, PII masking in automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven cloud security, API security, and cost optimization awareness.
• Cloud certifications such as Google Cloud Architect or ML Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate innovative opportunities across Platform Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Translate technical findings into user stories, requirements, and solution concepts.
• Plan and execute PoCs and hands-on delivery to validate cloud innovations.
• Research disruptive tech like Generative AI and RPA to advise adoption.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Zebra IT and product teams.
• Facilitate ideation workshops to promote collaborative problem solving.
• Act as Innovation Evangelist for IT and the enterprise.
• Track KPIs and report progress and outcomes to leadership.
• Establish repeatable operating model for cloud-native AI/ML deployment (GCP/Azure).
• Mentor cloud and AI platform engineers toward analytics and automation.
• Translate AI governance and RBAC requirements into CI/CD specs.
• Manage roadmap alignment within technology portfolios.
