Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Principal Architect to lead cloud-based architecture for AI and platform capabilities. You will define foundational architecture for neocloud, on-premises, and appliance environments, enabling scalable AI workloads with strong governance and security.

You will collaborate with teams to translate AI ambitions into durable platform designs, bridging technical vision with engineering execution across a globally distributed organization.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability across large-scale environments.
• Expertise in one or more programming languages with production-grade code writing, reviewing, debugging.
• Deep knowledge of software, applications and architecture across cloud, AI/ML, or mobile.
• Experience applying enterprise AI capabilities within architecture and engineering workflows with data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into scalable platforms with resiliency, security, and auditability.
• Experience solving complex architecture problems across technical disciplines.
• Experience leading a product as owner/PM and aligning technical direction to business outcomes.
• Ability to explain complex architectural concepts to senior leaders and executives.

Responsibilities

• Advise cross-functional teams on technology choices and integration patterns to reach target-state architecture.
• Define foundational platform architecture for neocloud, on-premises, and appliance environments with standard deployment patterns.
• Ensure platform alignment with enterprise controls and data governance across environments.
• Navigate architectural gates from planning to operation with evidence and approvals.
• Develop multi-year architecture roadmaps aligned with AI priorities and engineering capacity.
• Specify new architectural patterns to enable AI capabilities and establish reusable patterns and governance.
• Apply enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate analysis, roadmap development, with human-in-the-loop validation.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code for standards compliance.
• Ensure engineering alignment through reviews and prioritized tasks to meet imperatives.
• Document integration with firmwide services including IAM while satisfying security controls.
• Serve as SME and contribute to development of technical methods in line with product development.
