Job summary

Netsmart is seeking a Lead Software Architect, Cloud & AI Modernization to guide architecture across Post-Acute healthcare solutions. This role will help modernize products as Netsmart scales cloud-based and AI-enabled capabilities, working closely with development teams to shape design and execution.

You will lead architecture reviews, set standards, and collaborate with DevOps, Security, Product, UX, and engineering leaders to balance client commitments with production stability.

Qualifications

• Experience as Software Architect or technical lead guiding enterprise-scale modernization.
• Hands-on with AWS/cloud-native patterns, APIs, microservices, and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead architecture decisions in a matrixed organization and influence teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy and technical design for Post-Acute applications and platforms.
• Work hands-on with engineering teams to evaluate current-state architecture and guide modernization.
• Support legacy modernization through modular architecture, API design, service decomposition, and cloud migration.
• Partner with DevOps, Hosting, Cloud, Security, Product, UX, and engineering leaders to align decisions.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews, documentation, PoCs, and reusable patterns.
• Guide teams on AWS, distributed systems, CI/CD, observability, reliability, and security.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI, automation, analytics, or data-driven features responsibly.
• Translate complex tradeoffs into clear recommendations for business and technology leaders.
• Balance modernization with client commitments, regulatory expectations, quality, and production stability.
• Promote engineering standards for maintainability, scalability, and speed of delivery.
