Hallmark Media seeks a Software Engineering Manager who blends hands-on coding with strong leadership to modernize, integrate, and support critical business applications across the organization.

You will guide a team of engineers, collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors, and drive cloud-first, API-enabled architectures, secure delivery, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced media environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including meaningful experience leading or mentoring software engineers in an enterprise environment.
• Experience designing, developing, or modernizing applications using cloud-native architectures and modern programming languages.
• Strong hands-on software development experience with C#/.NET and one or more modern languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering accountability and technical excellence.
• Establish engineering standards across architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Drive architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making while growing cloud capabilities and modern engineering practices.
• Lead development, modernization, and integration of custom applications and APIs, transitioning from legacy systems to cloud-ready architectures.
• Reduce technical debt and architectural risk while evaluating new technologies for scalability and security.
• Partner with stakeholders, vendors, and tech teams to define integration strategies and reliable solutions.
• Improve software delivery with strong source control, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and release management.
• Collaborate with Information Security, Architecture and Infrastructure to ensure security and governance compliance.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide effort estimates and roadmaps.
