Clothing Assistant Store Manager - Full time

C-A-L Ranch Stores was founded in 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID, by Clinton, Allen, and L. Wayne Murphy. The family used their initials “C-A-L” to create their brand. Our first store, located in Idaho Falls, ID was called C-A-L Ranch & Farm Supply. The store had less than 3,000 square feet and primarily sold tillage tools and hardware. After 60+ years of successful retail business, C-A-L Ranch Stores has grown from a single store to a regional retailer with multiple stores in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. While no longer owned by the Murphys, it remains privately held, with current owners maintaining the company's mission and values.

Who We Are:

C-A-L Ranch Stores is a Ranch & Home Store AND SO MUCH MORE! Our team includes craftsmen, marksmen, outdoor grill masters, backyard farmers, and outdoor enthusiasts. We are campers, hikers, DIYers, pet lovers, and concert-goers. We enjoy hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, and we love to dress up for events and casual outings.

What you’ll do:

You will supervise and coordinate activities of store workers, perform duties assigned by the Manager, and step in during shifts when the Store Manager is absent.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage specific store areas as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Plan work schedules, assign duties, and organize breaks, hours, and vacations.
  • Assist with financial performance, merchandise placement, sales, expenses, and profitability goals.
  • Coordinate sales promotions and oversee merchandise displays.
  • Supervise sales activities, inventory, cash reconciliation, and record-keeping.
  • Train staff on store policies, procedures, and duties. Order merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed. Manage inventory discrepancies.
  • Address customer complaints, handle returns, and resolve issues to maintain good public relations.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and carts safely; become forklift certified.
  • Assist with sales and approve merchandise purchases.
  • Plan store layout and displays. Ensure store security.
  • This role requires the ability to handle firearms safely, process all firearm transactions following legal and company policies, and complete all necessary forms.
  • Regular attendance at the store is required. Work schedules are planned weekly, and any absences must be communicated to the Store Manager.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and effective communication in English.
  • Model safety behaviors, participate in safety initiatives, and work with management and Loss Prevention teams.
