Job summary

Thriving Wildflowers is seeking an experienced childcare assistant to join as a closing floater at our SE Woodstock, Portland home-based program.

The role supports children aged 1–5 across spaces, moves between activities, and assists staff with routines, cleaning, meal prep, and family interactions. A family-friendly, nature-inspired setting values collaboration and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children ages 1–5; comfort with diapering and potty support.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to obtain required trainings and certifications per Oregon DELC within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise small groups of children across ages 1–5.
• Assist teaching staff with larger groups and transitions between spaces.
• Perform daily side tasks including cleaning, laundry, and basic food prep (snack/lunch).
• Assist with yard/garden maintenance and outdoor activities in various spaces.
• Interact with families during drop-off and pick-up and model respectful, child-led interactions.
