Job summary

ConnectOne Bank in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, is seeking a Closing Attorney to represent the Bank in commercial real estate and C&I loan closings. You will coordinate with lenders, the Closing Department, and Legal to ensure closings comply with bank policies and applicable law.

The role requires 3–5 years of CRE or real estate lending experience, a JD from an accredited school, and active NJ and/or NY bar admission. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the New Jersey and/or New York State Bars.
• 3–5 years of relevant legal practice experience, specifically within commercial lending or real estate law.
• Strong “People First” approach and client service orientation.
• Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations.
• Expertise in commercial real estate and C&I loan documentation and closing procedures.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Bank in commercial real estate and C&I loan closings.
• Collaborate with lenders, the Closing Department, and the Legal Department to facilitate loan execution.
• Review and finalize loan documentation to ensure legal sufficiency and protection of assets.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide guidance on applicable laws and trends.
• Provide comprehensive support to the Closing Department and lending teams on loan-related matters.
