Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) seeks a Clinician Unlicensed to join the Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (A-CCS) team in Western Massachusetts. The role delivers community-based clinical services, completes intakes and assessments, develops action and safety plans, and coordinates referrals to support transitions back to the community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a clinical behavioral health field is required.
• Experience with evidence-informed approaches; crisis-stabilization or inpatient experience preferred.
• Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, risk assessment, safety planning, treatment planning, discharge planning, and referrals.
• Ability to establish rapport with patients and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Excellent observation, critical thinking, clinical judgment, problem-solving and decision-making.
• Strong group facilitation, education, and both verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organization, workflow management, documentation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, community-based clinical and consultative services for adults in A-CCS.
• Complete intakes and comprehensive clinical assessments, including risk and mental-status evaluations.
• Develop and document individualized action plans, safety plans, and treatment plans with the team.
• Determine and implement appropriate treatment and referral responses based on assessment.
• Lead treatment and disposition planning during shifts and participate in daily case meetings.
• Develop discharge and aftercare plans and coordinate referrals for continuity of care.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and recovery-oriented groups for A-CCS.
• Triages daily clinical workflow and ensures a safe, therapeutic milieu.
• Maintain timely electronic documentation of assessments, treatment, and outcomes.

What You Will Do:

• Provide high-quality, community-based clinical and consultative services to individuals receiving care through Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (A-CCS), as well as their families, program staff, and collaborating providers.
• Complete intakes and comprehensive clinical assessments, including risk assessment, diagnosis, mental-status evaluation, social functioning, and evidence-based screening tools.
• Develop and document individualized action plans, safety plans, treatment plans, and other clinical interventions in partnership with individuals, significant supports, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Determine and implement appropriate treatment and referral responses based on clinical assessment, using the least restrictive and most person-centered alternatives available.
• Lead treatment and disposition planning during assigned shifts, participate in daily case meetings, and consult regularly with supervisors, program staff, collateral providers, and community partners.
• Develop comprehensive discharge and aftercare plans, complete discharge summaries, and coordinate referrals that support continuity of care and successful transition back to the community.
• Facilitate psychoeducational, recovery-oriented, and behavioral health groups appropriate to the A-CCS level of care and provide education to individuals, groups, and staff.
• Triage daily clinical workflow, support appropriate program census and admissions, oversee treatment planning during the shift, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic, and organized milieu.
• Complete clear, accurate, and timely electronic documentation of assessments, treatment, progress, consultations, dispositions, and other required clinical and operational information.
• Participate in individual and group supervision, training, seminars, quality-improvement activities, and data collection; serve as a liaison with Emergency Services and other providers; and perform other assigned duties.

Who You Are:

• Master's degree in a clinical behavioral health or related clinical program required.
• Experience using a variety of evidence-informed treatment approaches with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges; crisis-stabilization or inpatient experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, risk-assessment, safety-planning, treatment-planning, discharge-planning, and referral skills.
• Ability to establish rapport with individuals experiencing psychiatric symptoms, their families and significant supports, and collaborating providers while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Excellent observation, critical-thinking, clinical judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to manage complex clinical dilemmas through team consultation.
• Strong group-facilitation, conflict-management, education, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization, workflow management, documentation, teamwork, and technology skills, with the ability to remain effective as clinical conditions and priorities change.
• Commitment to culturally responsive, recovery-oriented, person-centered care and motivation to work with individuals experiencing acute behavioral health needs.
• Ability to work the assigned essential‑staff schedule and meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
